It’s that time of year again. You come back from spring break and realize, although the semester is halfway over, you still have approximately 99% of all the work to be done during the semester crammed into the back half. While the days are getting longer, brighter and warmer your plans are becoming more library and computer lab-centered.
While you’re running around stressing over research papers and trying to get in touch with that person in your group who no one has heard from in a few weeks, remember to enjoy the change that’s happening around you.
The weather in the east Tennessee area, especially during this time of year, is far from predictable, but it’s also one of the nicest times of the year. Instead of spending hours in the library staring out the window take some time and actually go outside, take your books or computer with you, but go find a nice grassy spot, hammock, restaurant patio or shade tree, and let your body soak up some good stuff while your brain is forced to make room for argument forms, equations and formulas.
We live in one of the most beautiful places in America. So stop and take a minute, while you’re memorizing chapter 15, to enrich your soul at the same time you try to cram one last vocabulary word into the last unused wrinkles of your brain.
